Title: anyone ever wondered if there are 3 grey tones for the bullet-shaped helmets?
Post by: cheng on November 01, 2012, 08:00:57
I was removing some dark grey helmets in the dim yellow lights of my playmobil room and didnt realise until later that there was a mid-grey colour or perhaps its just old with age (I on wash my playmo with soap and water, not hydrogen peroxide :P)

I've come across this many times. The lighter shade of dark grey is a much more recent paint. You will notice this with other armor in other sets too. For example the armor of the 3669 - Knight (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3669) is much darker than the armor in 4177 - Knight Carrying Case (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4177) which is more recent. I guess it the same issue with the shiny , not so  shiny, too much shiny gold colour

thanks WK!
meaning the light grey is one ETN
while the dark grey and not-so-dark grey are having the same ETN.
maybe a slight change in proportion of colour granules...I suppose I shouldn't be bothered afterall now PM skin tones vary quite a lot (Its just that I still like my armies to have 'uniform' uniform :P except for their faces and hair :)
