Title: In praise of UK DS
Post by: skypurr on July 20, 2012, 20:47:06
Last week Gordon posted about receiving on Friday a ds order he paid for on Monday, I can beat that...
I have had a list of things to order and kept delaying ordering as I kept adding to the list.
I finally got around to emailing it to Playmobil UK on Monday, I received an email with a price on Tuesday so phoned up to pay..
It arrived today (Friday) three days later!  How's that for service?  :)
It was very exciting to receive it, here's what was in the box...

Just one mistake... an extra monkey   I'll find a place for him in my zoo!

nice DS order, was this only DS or DSparts? Our DS is connected to our normal set orders and DSparts is totally separate.

love all the parts you got  :inlove:

This was ds parts
I also ordered a victorian fence and some barrels from the ds catalogue on the same day and that parcel arrived at the same time also.  :)

Ah thats so nice!!! We still have to send our orders to Germany  :( it takes forever to receive them... not to mention only pay option is by bank invoice with a very annoying fee of 35 euros for trasaction, process and handling fee charge  >:(
Lovely spare parts you received Elaine!!! The chimney is a most interesting one ;D

Interestingly enough, Elaine, the drumsticks you ordered for me because they were sent short arrived late this week.  This is the second time the balance for something sent short on an order has arrived later.  I'm wondering if the items were out of stock and that a "catch-up" system now operates.

Playmobil UK sends (presumably emails) the order to Germany and that is where they are shipped from.  I got an email on Wednesday to tell me they had been shipped, so two days from Germany to UK is fantastic.

Those chimneys are destined for Hogsmeade - I forgot to order them in time for Knaresborough exhibition.  :-[

What I didn't mention is that all 17 of the monkeys I received had their heads facing their tails
I presume this is how they came off the production line, but has anyone else noticed this?

:inlove: :inlove: :inlove: Before I got to the picture for me, I was already drooling!!! Thanks for the close-up! Penguins!!!!     Can't wait to get my hands on those.

Man, that is really great service, just three days. Last order I did, it was about three or four weeks from the time I called and paid until they sent me a shipping notification. In fact it had been so long that I'd somehow forgotten the payment hadn't been taken out of my account yet (they don't process the payment until they ship it) so by the time the payment went through, I didn't have the money in my account, causing me to overdraft several small charges, leading to $140 in overdraft fees. >:( >:( >:( Not that it was exactly DS US's fault, I should have kept track. But still, if they had prompt service it would have been nice. ::)

You're so lucky! Here in France, which I thought was closer to Germany than England or Scotland, we can order by email but we have to print their invoice, which they email us after at least two weeks (sometimes more than a month!) and send a check. Then, dlivery comes within two to three weeks!
Last order I made was for Grangel and myself, and two references were missing in the box, which was damaged. I claimed the missing parts by email, three weeks ago, and haven't heard from PM yet.
I did receive one feather and one shield separately in an envelope, that were also missing.
I'm not really happy with this Direct Service of ours…
Best,
A.
