Hello it's been a while since I've last been on here hope everyone is well. Due to the location and the amount of time we're spending working on one of the sites with BTCV it makes it easy for me to get the tram down there which means I can get down for whatever time I want, and it also means that if I leave early then I can get off a few stops later to have a look round the big Toysrus before I need to be on site. Me being a general toyaholic then I just wanted to do it while we were working up there so that I could take a general look round and use the opportunity to buy anything I wanted to, I've got to say I was generally a bit disappointed with the selection and not too impressed with the prices however, I did take a good look at the Playmobil seeing which themes and figures particularly appealed to me, I was rather tempted by a 2 figure set which was a pirate and a redcoat but, I wasn't sure about the faces, in the end I bought these 2 sets, 2 Knights £3.99 and a Woodwork class set £4.99, amazing how much more you get for another £1:

I think the guys were fairly impressed not just new additions but, boxed ones at that been a long time since they've seen anything that impressive ;D ;)

"So what's in it?, what do we get?!"

"Hello in there can you hear me?"

Hopefully will have some more photos of the new additions out of the box soon am really looking forward to opening and assembling them, will be nice to have some kids, oen thign that I did notice an absence of on the woodwork packaging though is any wood strange surely it would be an essential part of this sort of set? ??? :eh?:

Cool purchases! ;)

Great buys!
I love that class set. But you are right! Weird that a carpentry class has all the tools needed to work and not ONE piece of wood
How much more cost would add to the set, to put 2 or 3 "wood pieces", designers?
-
Yeah, that would have been a good idea. ??? In fact it is very strange that the project they seem to have made is a lantern... wood probably isn't the best material for that!
-
Maybe the teacher and the little girl made that boy out of wood and are looking for a fairy to turn him into a real boy.
It's not a carpentry class set, its Gepetto's workshop. :P

you might be right!

Aye a few bits of plastic made to look like planks of wood say would have been great, in fact I love this set but, I rather think a little toolbox might have looked quite good as well. Fortunately we had a few days over on the Wirral just a couple of weeks back and I picked up a wood jeep construction kit which I finished building last week, I was hoping it might be good Playmobil scale but, the test mans legs wouldn't fit in the seat :( so my LEGO army men have got it instead ;D ;), anyway that means that even after giving the empty frames to BTCV for firewood then I've still got some spare wood left over for builiding toy scale model and accessories well if I've got enough skill ;)

I was wondering what that piece was, that seemed like the most likely bet.

My friends at the Botanics weren't keen on his beard I quite like him apart from that with these newer headsculpts you can't get much headgear on them well certainly not the type from my era don't know whether the kids with the new headsculpts are much better as they've already got round hair pieces and therefore appropriately round hats, oh yes and the beards shifts upwards due to the height of his collar when he turns his head so that looks a bit weird :-[
Yes, I love the teacher! He looks like a really cool, fun teacher.
Thanks he does :)

Thanks :)

:o Just looked on the currency convertor that's steep certainly compared to what I found it for unlucky.

Right some photos, first off the 2 Knights
(http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/g462/DoctorDalek6/P1270031web.jpg)
They're both really cool I love the wings on the red Knight his wings move up and down a good bit and the shield and sword are great, I like the cahinmail headgear more than I expected but, there's still something about it which I find weird I'm much more comfortable with my figures having hair to me it just seems like a step down from a helmet which by the way is quite a nice piece as well. I like the green Knight at least as much, his tunic and shield are really cool love the celtic? looking design and I like his hair piece, not sure about the helmet it's quite nice but, sometimes it doesn't seem to sit right on the head.
All the Knights together

Now for the Woodwork class, I'll do some photos of them in action so to speak when I get time these are more just to show what's in the set

A close up of the work bench and stools, bin, some tools (looks like a chisel or hammer, screwdriver and based on the photos then something for spreading glue) and glue, vice with one of my wood offcuts and a drill by the looks of it

Good to see your young clickies have a good teacher to take care of them, nice to see that set comes with a first aid kit.

I've had some problems with some newer helms too. It seems they've been cast a tad too small for the diameter of the hair pieces. I don't think it's the hair, because I've tried the helms on other figures too. Does your helm fit the other figures better?

Ben so long since I've had any kid Klicky's, they're in good hands with their teacher, me oh and Action Man Medic I guess ;D did all about health and safety at College did risk assessments and all sorts very important, at leas they don't have too worry about PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at BTCV we've got to wear very fashionable yellow high visibility vests, steel toe capped boots, and my own toobelt and trend setting fingerless gloves :D

It looks weird on some of the heads in fatc trying it on the 2 different hairstyles that it might fit on apart from the chainmail then it looks even weirder particularly on the spiky hair where it's just too high. It does fit it just sometimes looks like it's just sitting atop for want of a better way of putting it even when they're pushed fully down.
