I eventually gave in and treated myself to a few sets from Master Malone. These are my Spartans. I kept my idea of (almost) naked fighters, with Javi's accessories, Cheng's brown PVC tape and some paint, I think they look good.
I will make a diorama of the Battle of the Thermopylae, when I'm done with my Persians. Especially the Immortals :shhhh:

>:D >:D >:D
@Cheng: I gave up on the shoes, but came up with another idea. Something even more fitting for warriors. ;)

Very nice customs! And Malone's pieces are just great.

oh BEAUTIFUL!! 'simple' and BEAUTIFUL!!!
if you and let me have a (simplified) drawing of their leggings, I can try and tape up one and if it works, we'll be busy till Summer ;D
....and of course, not possible without Malone's beautiful shields and helms...wait till he has time to travel to the Far East
-
exceptional :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
These helments and the shields are a piece of art, they definetly look like the real ones 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Great job with the Corinthians and Spartans pieces....
I like this body to make greeks but we need put something on the legs...grevas...protections....and....o ne Nike/spartan model on the feets
-
Thanks Javi! I'm working my plastiline just now for the leg armors. Though Cheng also said he'd try something of his own. The paint I used for these is Humbrol 54 Metal, which has a grainy aspect and touch that I quite like. The Corynthians were painted with Tamiya and Citadel acrylics.
Best,
Arnaud

They look great! They also had bracers to go with the greaves though. ;)
Already looking forward to seeing scenes from the movie portrayed with playmobil. :)
-
They look great!
Though they are all very well waxed and shaved to be fierce Spartan warriors.

I am a shaved-chest pirate too >:( ;D
-
I said it in the intro, Luis. They're Malone's work.
-
as you know i use humbrol too but between bronze and gold (a bit less gold than yours)
for the playmobils : i agree they're good naked like that but i really still don't like the proportion of theses playmobils ...
for your immortals : have a look on that (i ask him but innapilly he don't sell me parts like that ... )

Hey Jérémy!
I know these Immortal heads, Javi showed them to me! The turban is good but the face isn't that much. My master model is already in silicone, I just need to make the counter-part, then I can cast resin at last!
Best,
Arnaud
-
they are very fierce! love the helmets. Reminds me of 300 ;)

-
A superb Arnaud/Malone production.

Hey guys!
Thanks to a French creator named Domitim, I was able to make a different version of Spartan warriors. Where the first batch was inspired by 300!, these are more historically accurate.

They don't. They don't like money.
-
Nice I like the way you've done the tunics and the helmets with the plumes the swords look good as well not like any other weapon I've seen from Playmobil great work :)
-
Arnaud! :o did you paint the base of their plumes with a dentist's brush?! now you just have to do so likewise for another 297...both sides I hope
-
I only have six sets of accessories unfortunately, so together with my Malone sets, that's 19 Hoplites, who will be facing about 50 Achemenides.
I didn't use a dentist's brush, I don't know what this is, I used Citadel brushes with Tamiya acrylics.
Best,
Arnaud
-
Nicely done!

3 down.. 297 to go!! Very cool!
