can you please see if her pom-pom can fit into the recess (on top) of this old Chinese hat?
judging from the photo, I'm afraid the pom-pom is too small to cover the part inside the walls of the hat :P
thanks in advance Playmofriends!

I reckon gaspodfreud came up with a lot of cheerleaders, and he definitely has this hat. Better ask him. :D
-
thanks Arnaud, I will if nobody else responds ;)

Sorry Cheng, it is too small - see photo...

big thanks still Elaine!
and cowabounga and Gaspofreud!
you dont have to give me your pom-pom Gaspofreud,
:'( its too small like Elaine says....
supposed to be a pom-pom on the hat of an ancient chinese captain...no worries!
...last request Elaine...can you please take another photo but this time from side view ('sea level') when you can please!
do you think the red was just sprayed on? purposely thinning out and revealing the white ends? that's not very PM right? I'm sure sprayed-on paint is not as durable as printing,,,so in time kids will find these red pom-poms turn white. maybe its printed with tiny dots getting less towards the bottom? anyone can say for sure?

hi Cheng , i started to paint this part in black to put it on hair to do a geisha with , i had to cut it a bit but it seem rather good .

will also look perfect for a chinese courtesan ;)
..but I'm not making any ancient chinese female custom...yet
but will look forward to your geisha!
Gaspodfreud...is it too late to ask you whether the red colour was sprayed on or printed on the pom-pom?
-
Cheng, I looked and it's hard to tell. It does appear to be sprayed, unfortunately, because of the way the color is distributed unevenly through the grooves and such. It's definitely not obvious tapering dots like you see on some printed objects. So it looks sprayed but I'm not 100% sure.

thanks bb! I agree too. not practical to print a fade-away on this ribbed surface...but it does mean my spraying is no longer 'non-playmo' ;)
am hanging on to this thread for Elaine to take another photo but this time from side view ('sea level')....I think the pom-pom can still be used for a chinese captain if the widest point/diameter can fully cover the (top)inside of the chinese pirate hat :)
-
Sorry Cheng, I must have put the hat away in the wrong box and couldn't find it when I needed it!
Here are a couple of photos from different angles - hope they help :)

thanks a lot Elaine!
I think just a wee bit too small but maybe not noticeable when viewed from klicky eye-level ;)
