Me too!

thanks guys..but do tell me what we can do with those wooden mallets unless its a surprise youre going to post someday

I love the figure, Master Cheng! But I have a tainted feeling about this mallet. Is that really a traditional Chinese weapon? I guess that any object that can hurt can make do, but I think a mallet lacks… style!
;D

interesting point Arnaud!
I stand corrected :P
the nearest chinese weapons are these mallets used in pairs(I often wonder if they are all just mythical) although its ok for samurai army conscripts from villagers who used anything from sickles to pitch forks ;)

I'd say they could be used for those type of weapons that you posted pictures of, or at least for some building tools! :)

"Chui" is Chinese for the hammer weapon used in Kung Fu. You can see mallets like this in old Kung fu movies from the '70s. You can also see them in samurai movies like 'Yojimbo'.
Cool figure, by the way.
What's the writing on his shirt say?
-
thanks playmofriends!
watching 'Yojimbo' or any of those great shows of that era will make me go crazy and make even more customs....I think I've over done them already...just waiting for better sleeves/legs/hats/hair from Geobra
the writing on his shirt says 'Luck' and 'Long life'
-
cool ! really love this foots !! i thought the mailler was for a huge drumer , hope it's the good translation , you guess what i have in mind ?

for huge drums?! it will make a big hole in the leather skin :P
so please do tell me what you have in mind, you do have lots of great ideas ;)

Maybe they could be used to ring a gong? Though I reckon the mallet for the gong has a softened end, something like cork or a small leather bag stuffed with hay?
-
That's what it says on the Figure's shirt? :o
quite lame for a kung fu exponent...maybe Geobra was hoping to test the Chinese market, hoping they'll buy them as good luck mascots :P perhaps 'Brave' or something else would be more appropriate...then again, maybe 'Lucky & Long Life' is the name of his kung fu school ;D
yes arnaud...I have seen them use smaller versions for gongs maybe this can be for an even larger gong for signalling during samurai battles
-
Luck and long life? That is a bit strange. ??? Something like "brave" or "strength" would be much better. At least it doesn't say peace and joy or something!
-
i think someting loke that but in fact the mailler is not the best to go with .... :-[ your custom will maybe be good for that , i haven't much time to look on the web , but my "visual memory" say there's someting near .
