I have 40 of these left to inventory for the DB - who wants to help?
-
I can do 4013 and 4093, for sure. Though you may not believe me since I have never done that castle. :-[ The zoo sets should be easy, though and once I get my system going, i can probably do more.
-
I can do these two
4083 Victorian Oldtimer Truck (Victorian)
4085 RC-Mega Güterzug-Set (Train)
-
Thanks for the information! I don't have any of those sets though... :(
-
Thank you for this information Heather :) I can use quite a lot of them ;D
-
I can do 4727, but if we it isn't necessary to have the sets I can do 5226 and 5228 also.
Please can you remind us what exactly we need to do though
(BTW Heather, I haven't forgotten about the photos of the station klickies I was going to do for you :-[ )

Check here to see which of the above still has "Parts inv'ed = 1" in red: PlaymoDB List - Needs Inventory, 2012-03-26 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/your_set_list.pl?setlist=4015,4080,4129,4725,4726,4727,4729,4730,4731,4732,4733,4734,4735,4736,4737,4738,4879,5106,5160,5161,5162,5176,5177,5178,5179,5180,5181,5182,5183,5184,5185,5186,5215,5216,5221,5222,5223,5224,5225,5226,5227,5228;title=Needs%20Inventory%2C%202012-03-26&pics=on)
It isn't necessary to own the sets at this point - just download the instructions and type a long list of part-numbers and quantities first. Then I can put them in and narrow down the list of what is new, and so needs names and pictures. From the look of it, the riding stables and police have a LOT of re-used numbers, so all I need is the part number and quantity, and that will pull in the details and picture automatically.
Bonnie, the part numbers and pictures are all in 5142 - Princess Castle (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?set=5142&pics=on) waiting for you ;)

Thanks for volunteering, Ras! Use whatever you're comfortable with - no need to learn new software just to get together a list of numbers and quantities, like this:
30 62 5413 1
30 62 7172 1
30 62 9943 1
30 80 0183 1
30 80 2283 1
30 82 2990 4
30 82 4140 2
Format's not important, just one line per part with those two pieces of info. When it's a really big set, I often add a third column with the page number where the part is found in the plans, so I can more easily locate it to make the little picture, but even that's optional. Send it to me via PM, email, shared document, carrier pigeon... doesn't matter.
Once I get the list of parts, I add them to the set-page, and see what comes up in the "TO BE ASSIGNED" category. Those need names, categories, and pictures, but any part that already exists is ready to go.

thanks for the lesson :)9 seems easy but endless

You got that right!

Thought I'd make a start and download some instructions, but although it shows as the set numbers I type in being available and gives me a list of page numbers, there are no pictures or text.
I tried it with a few sets - old and new but it's like that for whichever set I try.
Is it the same for anyone else or just for the UK - or just me?

Do you mean that the listing for the set doesn't appear at all? When I type in a set number, it shows a little preview page of the instructions, and if you click on that it brings them up in the browser, and if you click the "download" button you can open or download a PDF copy of it. It works for me on the United Kingdom site. :-\

The country shouldn't make a difference: it's the same page, in a frame, with different-language text, that's all. Elaine, try changing browsers: the lengths your browser has to go to, to get these downloads, are sometimes just a bit much for it!
-
The preview page was blank other than a list of page numbers and when I clicked on those nothing happened.
However I've just tried it on my laptop that has Internet Explorer and it's fine, so maybe the problem is with Firefox.
But I've downloaded instructions on my pc with Firefox before with no problems.
Maybe it was just a bad time!

I just wanted to comment on your ongoing good work, sbblabotw. I called Playmobil in an attempt to discover the part number for the white bridal cape of set 5509, and they actually referred me to your site! But they told me to look on playmobb.org instead of playmodb.org!
Your pouncing on new instructions just shows your dedication to the project. Well done!

It confounds me that the company itself would be using it - they should have every part number every made, why do they need me?
The Riding Stables are getting taken up: only 5221, 5225, and 5226 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/your_set_list.pl?setlist=5221,5225,5226) remain... get your bids in, folks - and always check a set before starting, just in case the work's already done. Lots left at this stage, though!

I guess it shows how awesome the database is.

I have also been referred to your site by the company, a few years ago before I knew anything about playmofriends. In fact, I think I found out about playmodb through an email response from them, can't quite recall.
