Great pics.
You managed to really match the color and the sand makes it look AWESOME.
Apart from those holes, the castle it looks good. I have the first system X castle, but never assembled it....
-
That's a very large and impressive castle, Vauban! I really like how you've included both an inner and outer bailey with space for animals and weapons practice. :knight:
-
A great castleand some nice pics! :) I like the one where they are carrying that wild boar. 8-)
-
This is great! You've created a fantastic castle and environment there! I really like the System-X castles. I wish that I had as much as you, as I've only a single Eagle Castle. Yours looks great with all of the extra parts and additions you've made. Well done. :)

Moved :)
This is absolutely brilliant, Volker!!! Very good blueprint of a system x castle!!! I tooks so great!!! Very well done!!!
-
That looks awesome! Puts mine to shame.
-
Great castle. Nice melding of Stek and X. And you used Hansel +Gretel's Fence!!!
I am becoming a missionary for these sets: If you want commoners in your castle, everyone, grab these sets http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4212 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4212) off the clearance aisles!

I definitely would if I ever found any.

XL? That's an understatement. That thing is huge! Very nice.
-
a "little taller?" wow! very awesome! Is that comprised of more than one 3268 castle set? Or did you just buy several add-on walls and towers? Oh, and what is under the second tier? Do you have play area under there? or is it just hollow/empty?

Great work !! Master builder of steck system!! and of course after this post master builder of X system.
Beautifull combination and a great castle system.!!
Bravo!
-
Wow! That is huge! Great job!

I wonder this too! ;)

Wow! That is a magnificent castle! Really good work. It all blends together so well, even though it is a combo of steck and sys X. The sand in the courtyard is a nice touch.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Great Job! :thanks: :)9
-
Well done! :)9 I like the innerplaces you created! 8-)
Myself I skipped this castle (also the Red Dragons' one) and decided to go for the present versions...
-
After looking closely, looks like the only steck is the house.
-
By gum, Elric, I think you are right!
I was fooled by the tower windows. I'da put money on the towers being steck. Nope. Just old windows. I'd forgotten the windows were compatible.
Really clever work, Vauban!

Every time I look at this, it just reminds me of how cool it is. This is excellent, Vauban. The detail is just great. ;)

Many thanks for all your nice comments
To the questions:
it is only one castle 3268, but 4 wall extensions B 7836 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?set=7836) and 3 tower extensions 7761 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?set=7761). And of course I used several brown baseplates and a medieval house made of steck. The upper yard is build with five baseplates 4 x 4 and eight 4 x 6.
The basement is empty. There is not enough place betwen the table and the wall to play. :-[
@Hadoque: I don't like the new lion castle (or the smaller falcon castle). The look great and make a lot of fun to play with. But it is terrible to build with them. There are no baseplates, useful connectors or walls. You need a saw and glue to build with these parts. :hmm:

Wow, you certainly did a lot with only those seven extensions.

I don't like them either. When I saw them at first, I was happy to see new castles with the hope that they could be used alongside my Eagle castle, but they are so much different, with the strangely shaped parts that you speak of.

Impressive !!!!!!!!!
Eventhough i have declared war to system x :P :P :P , this castle is most forbitable and the attention to detail commendable !!! I really like the higher level areas to the right with all the towers etc and some of the details are truly awesome.
A great castle set up i just cant wait and hope to see same battles in and around that castle. a siege even !!!!
Excellent work sire
