Wishing to start a Zoo, a group of sailors returns home with a cage filled with monkeys.
It sure is a heavy cage to unload from the boat though..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oops! the cage fell off the docks and now it is open! the monkeys are escaping into the streets and bump a squire down to the ground!
The sailors try to capture them but the monkeys are too fast.

The sailors can't seem to find the monkeys anymore, can you help them find all five monkeys?
A little girl in a red dress seems to be upset about losing her doll.. could one of the monkeys have taken it?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This diorama is dedicated to some of the youngest playmo fans since the monkeys arent too hard to find. So I encourage everyone to let their kids, nephews and nieces look for the monkeys and tell me if they liked it.
Later on I will post more pics of this diorama to show each monkey up close and what becomes of them after they are found.
So have fun with it. :)
-
That was harder than I thought it was going to be! Some of them are really well hidden. ;D
Lovely diorama and a really fun idea for a story. Thanks for sharing!

What a fun thread - thanks for sharing! :)

This was a lot of fun! Found all five, and the doll! :-X

Found only four... I like such contributions!! They are fun, and creative, concerning the diorama and the idea involed!!! Very productive contribution!!!
-
 I missed the doll thing before but I found it! A monkey stoled it!! ;D
-

Great diorama, and those monkeys are well hidden. Found them eventually though!
-
Thanks, it was fun working on it and I just love the old style monkeys.
-
Btw, these are not just an old style, it's a different animal. These are chimpanzees, which are African apes. The others (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30%2067%205520) are spider monkeys, from Central and South America. Both kinds are still being released in current sets.
-
Ah I didnt know they where still released. :)
-
This is great.
It took me a while but I eventually found all five and the doll. The most obvious one took me the longest to find :-[

Cool, found 'em! ;D

Once comments hit the third page I'll post the pics of each monkey and what becomes of them once they are found. ;)
Nice to see everyone is enjoying it, still hoping to hear if anyone's kids liked it too. :)
-
No monkeys here, too scary with all those sharp swords.
Not at the stables either, those horses or the chickens might make noise when they see the monkeys.
Could there be one at the harbour perhaps?
One of the sailors is reporting the missing monkeys to the dock master.

Children loved it. Thanks.
A comment from an expert. Klick Kong says that he is sorry but there are no monkeys there. He can see a friendly community of primates, most humans and five apes. ;) In addition, some horses, ducks, chickens, one dog, one cat, one raven and one goat. No monkeys at all
-
Now you're talking! ;D I'm always harping on apes versus monkeys too!

Monkey sounds funnier and I have no idea what the seperate words in Dutch would be. I thought it both meant the same thing. :)
First here is the most obvious one, who didnt really bother trying to hide but instead had king kong aspirations.
Don't worry, he gave the doll back to the little girl later.
The next one was probably the smartest one, he hid away out of sight from any clickies.
The third one was just thinking with his stomach, and couldnt resist those bananas. He's just waiting for a chance to snatch them off the table while the merchant is busy with his customers.
The fourth one was hiding behind some chests next to a guard. The guard was quite happy with the company during his guard duty so he didnt tell anyone about the monkey.
And the last one who was probably the most difficult to spot despite the lady gesturing towards him.
He thought he wouldnt be noticed between the drinking soldiers. (who confused him for Pete, a fellow soldier who is rather hairy.)

excellent, excellent pictures and medieval set up !!!

In dutch the difference is not so big in the words. Aap = Monkey (with tail) Mensaap = Ape (without tail). That's how I have learned it some time ago.
But most inportantly, your pictures look great!
-
Oh, I love these pics! I really like that there is a little story and reasoning behind each hiding spot. That makes it so much more interesting!
-
Almost forgot to post the picture of the conclusion. :-[
After being discovered, the little king kong gave the doll back to the little girl, the hungry ape took the banana's, and the other three monkeys managed to find a wagon with a horse to set out on their own adventures.
As they leave town the sailors still try to catch them but can't run that fast, and the drinking soldiers raise their mugs for who they still assume is Pete (and his four equally hairy twins.)
And with that our furry friends bid you farewell, who knows what trouble they might get into next time? ;)
-
That's a great ending!
(now I'm curious to see Pete.....)
-
there's no Pete clicky, no clickies are that hairy aside from the cavemen, but I don't have any of those. ;)
-
Haha! It's a good thing you posted again here, because I hadn't seen this. This is a wonderful idea for a story! It was a lot of fun, and I really like all of the pictures after the game! Well done!
-
thanks, the very last picture is my personal favorite. ;)

Aye, it's a nice ending. You've a lot of really nice Medieval figures there.
-
They arent all truly medieval though, theres some pirates there and a few others from other themes that seemed to fit in as villagers. :)

Maybe so, but they all fit together nicely, and with the lack of Medieval villagers released...
