In December 2003 I created a short photo-story set in WW2 Britain. Rather than hosting it on my personal website, it was given a home by Richard at Garden Wargaming (http://gardenwargaming.com/) since the theme of the story made it a nice fit for his site.
I referred to it simply as “Christmas on the Home Front,” but Richard had the great idea to add period music in the background for atmosphere, and so the story then became known as “I”ll be Home for Christmas,” after the song with the same title. :music1b:
The following year (after a great deal of coaxing from Richard) I added one further chapter to the story. I wish I could have kept this tradition going by expanding the story each year, but unfortunately time did not allow.
Many of you will already be familiar with the story since Richard promoted it on various platforms, especially here, with great gusto every Christmas for over 10 years. ;)
For the sake of completeness, and because I am rather fond of my creation, I decided I would add the story (without soundtrack) at Just For Kl!cks on the 15th anniversary of its first viewing. I can scarcely believe it is that long ago! 8}

(Click the above pic to visit the first page and then you can navigate the story by clicking on each photo.)
And if you prefer the musical version, it can still be found on Garden Wargaming. :)

Sylvia,
I’ve always loved this wonderful Playmobil Christmas story that you wrote and illustrated.
Thank you for resurrecting it for this Holiday Season!
15 years! I remember my grandfather asking, “Where have all the years gone?"
I’m now 82 and I’m asking myself that same question 😉
I went over to the Garden Wargaming website to be sure that "I’ll be Home for Christmas" was still available. First, I had trouble finding it on the site. (Being able to find anything at Garden Wargaming was always a major complaint from visitors. Perhaps I should have fixed it.) When I finally found it, there wasn’t any sound on my iPad.
If anyone wants to try to see if they can hear anything, here’s the URL:

Seasons Greetings to everyone,
Richard

It's great to see this again, Sylvia!
When I finally found it, there wasnt any sound on my iPad.
The sound still works. Your browser must have and allow the proper add-on though.
