Playmobil 4103
« on: October 09, 2017, 07:32:12 »
The "Ferrovie dello Balconia" found at the modeltrain-fair in Houten a secondhand Playmobil 4103 hopper car. Immediately it was dispatched to "Henk klusbedrijf" (= a small construction company), were the hopper car was dismantled, and all the parts were checked. The staff was making notations about the parts that are defect, missing or that will be improved. New parts will be ordered, and meanwhile the useful components will be cleaned.

A view at "Henk klusbedrijf" were the hopper car is taken apart.

Inspection of all the parts is taken place.

There is a little discussion about the two types of ladders found on the hopper car. Which is the correct one?

At he end of the inspection orders are placed in the office for new parts.

Nice photostory, Marco.  I look forward to the later episodes.

Meanwhile, I have a spare ladder of the correct type and a spare brake handle if you need them.

No problem, but if I can help, just let me know.

From older broken wagons the usable parts are saved for later use. The are stored on the salvage yard. There a piece of a frame and two coupling hooks were found. That saves time and money.

The frame is turned upside down, for easy installation of the axles. The plastic wheels are replaced by metal wheels. Some minor repair work is also done.

These are brilliant photos.  I love this.

Your photo-stories are excellent, Marco.   Technically, your photos are of a very high standard and in the way the figures and pieces are positioned.  Also, you tell a lot of story while using only a few photos, something not easy to achieve.

Looking forward to the rest of the refurbishment of the hopper waggon.
