Kaufmannszug Redux
« on: March 06, 2018, 00:37:08 »
I got inspired to redo Playmobil´s famous Color set 3660 "Kaufmannszug" with updated klickies (with additional & more recent accessories, hairs, etc), and to also do a version with normal coloured Playmo and 99% custom-klickies.

Just 2 pics of the normal-colour version to start with.
More coming later ... not sure yet when, must try to resize larger pics proparly to fit here within the 100kb limit, but they can´t be too small either.
I´m not using photo-hosting sites. And the updated klickies for the new Color version aren´t all finished yet, so that one is coming last.

I'd never heard of or seen the original set before - it's beautiful!

Looking forward to more of your recreation!

You've got some tough competition there, Handoque. Will you be able to match this beauty at Klickywelt (log-in required)? ;D

Looking forward to seeing your creation.

Best wishes

Nuremberg was a major centre of manufacture during the middle ages. There was a saying "Nürnberger tand geht in alle land".  Nuremberg merchandise goes to all lands.
There's a mural painted (originally?) in 1910 with this phrase on the commerce building in Nuremberg.

Looks familiar right?

What I don't get about the "color" set is that the artist painted the correct Nuremberg flag whereas the playmobil one is wrong as the stripes are diagonal. This is correct for the shield, but the flag should have horizontal stripes as seen in the mural above.

Looking forward to your take on this Hadoque.

On a shield or crest the stripes are typically angled - photos of mine from Nuremberg

The Bavarian and Franconian flags show up but I don't remember seeing the city flag as such except on the mural.

Here we go.

I´m having trouble with the overview-pics of the whole set-up. Those pics have to be resized a whole lot to upload them here as attachments, so these are too small to be good. Nevertheless, here they are.
Also with the lighting conditions I´m not that satisfied.

I might have seen it before while surfin´around on KW at the time, can´t remember.
I won´t be able to beat the quality of his pictures, of that I´m sure. Photography isn´t something I´m very good at.
But concerning the whole set-up itself and the klickies that go in it, I certainly take up the challenge.

Following pictures are a kind of "walk around".
Most show each time a certain part of the whole set-up, so they are bigger & (somewhat) better then the 3 "overview"-pics already posted.

When looking attentively, some of you might notice some small differences throughout the pics;
During a break when taking these pictures, I changed a female´s hair-colour, put a Troubadour on a horse and painted stripes on the shoulder-pads of a few figures.
