Well found Toni!!  Yep, that's the one :)  I have some scans of old catalogues, and as well as coming in sets, playpeople doctors and nurses were also sold as individual figures..(this leaflet was from 1976)

and in a variety of sizes of sets.

It seems that set number 1740 may be the one.  Playpeople were where my Playmobil obsession started - it's got gradually worse since then! lol

Some currently on ebay UK here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Playmobil-Hospital-Doctor-Medical-Stretcher-Patients-1974-/300812855823?pt=UK_Toys_Creative_Educational_RL&hash=item4609d7ea0f for the next 6 days. No that is not me selling these despite similar name! The seller has made the (usual) mistake of implying the items were manufactured in 1974, though Playpeople were not sold until late 1975. The nurses with the red cross ont heir chest and blue arms seem to be distinctively playpeople- I searched through the 2009 Playmobil Collector book to find them when another seller listed some on ebay a few days ago.
At that moment the ship suddenly stopped rocking and swaying, the engine pitch settled down to a gentle hum. 'Hey Ford.' said Zaphod, 'that sounds good. Have you worked out the controls on this boat?' 'No,' said Ford, 'I just stopped fiddling with them.' (With thanks to Douglas Adams)
