Thanks, glad you enjoy the pics! I had a lot of fun making them (and building the diorama of course).

I’m still amazed that Playmobil actually made a Roman theme because of it’s barbaric qualitities. It enables children to (re)create some pretty horrific scenery. But at least it also tells them about history wich is only to be applauded, although I feel there aren’t enough Roman sets yet. Where for example are the temples?

And I was very pleased to be able to customize the arena with spare parts that were easy to obtain online. Too bad the holders for the candles weren’t available anymore. Anyone any idea were to obtain them?

Well spotted! He pops up in every diorama I build, can’t stop him ;)

Great dio, and lovely photos (I really like tha first one!)

Missed him..   :-[

Peanuts (or "peaners", in the language of a football coach here) compared to some others... imo.

These days, I believe there is little chance of other sets - they tend to make sets "for boys" and "for girls" - a stupid concept to begin with, and then made worse by assuming the first are violent idiots, and the second pink-loving idiots. But I digress.

And I was very pleased to be able to customize the arena with spare parts that were easy to obtain online.

Yes, it looks great - though I made the mistake of purchasing the full seats from playmobil  :-\  Anyways, I still find it.. small. I think it should be taller. Deeper, actually, which is virtually impossible to manage for me..

Too bad the holders for the candles weren’t available anymore. Anyone any idea were to obtain them?

The "bronze" stuff is very fragile - apparently an issue with other parts as well - I had a bracer shatter when I put it on - that NEVER happened before in .. hundreds, surely...

It's funny when you think about it, isn't it? Just think, 2000 years from now, things we think are horrible will be games for children...

Yes it's a tragedy they didn't expand the civilian side of Roman life. Temples, farms, city apartments, imperial palace, they could have done so much. The recent expansion of the Greek gods is a glimmer of hope to which I cling desperately.

As tahra says those "bronze" bits are fragile, I've lost a couple to breakage...keep scouring the 'bay is the best we can do at this point.

Keep digressing Tahra, love those statements :)

And yes, I agree that the arena should be deeper (or higher, depending on your point of view). But I still can’t think of a way to customize that without actually having to build parts myself (and that’s really a no-go).

And I’m happy to learn that I’m not the only one who regrets the absence of more Roman architecure :)

Me for one Corso I very much regret the lack of Roman architecture (see my post in the brainstorming section) and I believe adding more Roman architecture would be quite a simple thing for Playmobil to do since most Roman architecture is quite simple - we can but hope !
