New Heavy Rescue for PFD
« on: July 19, 2017, 01:55:14 »
Hello Everyone,

I've finally gotten around to working on some custom projects again. A new heavy rescue has been in the works for a few years now (really since the new fire trucks were released) and I finally have made some progress. I really just wanted to share a picture because I'm pretty excited about how it's turned out.

So here it is...

Rescue 3 will be staffed with 3 firefighters and will respond citywide to all working fires, auto accidents with entrapment, hazmat calls and all technical rescues.

The new rig replaces Squad 3 which can be seen on this site somewhere. Rescue 3 will be placed in service when I get all of the equipment mounted.

Your name came to mind only a few days ago and today you're back with a bang!  Superb custom job!

Thanks everyone!

A little update before I start adding the equipment.

Compartments were added to the top of the rig and the first run of decals have been applied.

And, a picture of Rescue 3 in house (had to make sure it fit) with Engine 10.

That Heavy Rescue looks great!  Any in-progress photos?  I assume you used the Ladder Truck body and added the storage compartments/roll up doors from the smaller Rescue Truck?

The chassis is made from the rescue truck front and the rear axle and fenders from a concrete mixer. The body is made from 2 rescue trucks. I've included some pictures of the build.

There's a lot of impressive curtom work there, Ben.  Thanks for sharing.
