Forum Time
« on: May 30, 2013, 01:18:54 »
This may sound silly, but it seems that the forum time is fast, and I'm puzzled over how that could happen.  ??? I realize of course that the hour depends on your settings, but it seems that it is six or seven minutes fast. It is 8:11 as I'm writing this, and the forum time is showing as 8:17. Strange. ???

I never noticed the forum time until I read this post - and it's true. It's six minutes fast for me!

For me it shows as 2.30am when it's actually 3.24am (I can't sleep, thats why I'm here   :-[ )
It doesn't allow for British Summer Time otherwise it would be 6 minutes fast.

You can set the offset in your profile area so that is shows the right hour for your time zone.

It can simply be showing the time on the server (plus offset).

Or we are just in a time anomaly and it is showing the real time.

6 mins off? Really weird! I've never seen that happen before. :eh?:

I'll see if I can correct it.

For me it shows as 2.30am when it's actually 3.24am (I can't sleep, thats why I'm here   :-[ )

Bonnie's right. It's found here:

Profile > Look and Layout

Then click the "auto detect" link next to Time Offset and that will sort out the British Summer Time error you're experiencing.

Or we are just in a time anomaly and it is showing the real time.

;D ;D ;D

Hmmm. I performed a few routine maintenance functions but they haven't had any effect.

Get the feeling that the error must stem from server settings rather than any forum settings.
